Netbooks are tough enough for kids to use at school (and inexpensive enough to replace if lost or stolen), and are ideal as a second or third computer, for use at — or away from — home. Netbooks are capable computers that can be used for a wide range of tasks. There are some important differences between netbooks and traditional laptops though, so if you’re thinking of buying one, here are the main things to be aware of.

Usually spend at least 8 hrs a day at a desktop system, am not a day in day out Laptop/Netbook user. Doing remote IT support and trying to go on vacation at the same time has unique demands. Minimizing adverse impact on users is a major concern, traveling outside the country means light, compact, convenient hardware. Also own an HP that is much faster, heavier, easier to read, great local machine. But, at 12lbs with power supply etc. is a little hefty to drag around conveniently, especially on overseas trips.
This Asus is a near perfect compromise, my suggestion would be to buy a mouse to avoid all touch pad issues, eliminates my inability to adapt. I have friends who think this pad setup is great. May have to be a little careful with the keyboard at first, large hands used to standard size boards may require minor adjustment period.
Battery capacity is very good. Runs well, removed provided Anti-Virus, lower overhead programs available. AVG and Avira good alternatives at this time, add Malwarebytes, turn off unused devices as mentioned in setup guide.
Enjoy throwing it in your carry-on and going somewhere 10lbs lighter.
