Transformers Movie 2 Deluxe Bumblebee Figure

Transformers Movie 2 Deluxe Bumblebee Figure

Customer Reviews

Instructions people, read em, its not that hard, really, lol5
First of all let’s just clear something up about all these negative reviews: as for popping off parts, in the instructions it SAYS that parts are made to pop off during transformation so that if YOU the user was forcing it too much, it will pop off (and can be easily popped back on) instead of snapping and breaking off (like if you were to force an older gen Transformers figure). Its a feature to save kids from breaking their brand new favorite Bumblebee people. Try reading the instructions.

Admitedly, yes, several of the new movie Transformers have some of the most insane Transformations I have ever seen in a Transformer. I think its impressive and wowed me. It was a lot more like the way they move about in the films. Gone are the days of flip the calves/feet down, pop out the arms, rotate torso, flip up head DONE. And there is a very good reason for that: creating a FAR SUPERIOR robot mode. The robot modes are so impressive in these new Transformers its insane and this Bumblebee is TOTALLY my favorite. He’s extremely close to be the spitting image of his on screen self. Amazing head sculpt with perfect detailing, even his chest plate folds down in the center like its supposed to on film (which its not flipped down all the way in package, just FYI). I love this figure to death. Its one of my favorite Transformers ever, and I’ve been messing with these things since Bumblebee was just a little Bug with articulated arms and a flip up head that couldn’t turn and a hologram logo on his chest/roof. This figure is amazing. Period. The kid in me that loves robots and cars is happy in both modes. The adult in me that can respect sculpting, articulation and engineering is even more wowwed. Don’t listen to these haters. If you love Transformers, want the best Bumblebee ever made, and can READ SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS properly, then do not pass up this amazing toy!

same formula; newer features4
I’ve read that a lot of people have had problems with this figure. The only problem that is reaccurring with me are the shoulder pieces during transformation from robot to car mode. They like to pop off frequently, but nothing a little superglue couldn’t fix. This is still the same Bumblebee layout from the first movie’s line, only with added features. The figure, in addition to the new sculpt in car mode, has a new movie acurrate head sculpt as well. Also, this figure comes with an updated arm cannon that when in robot mode, flips out allowing you to insert the fire missle for the shooting gimmic. Other than that, not much new about this one. This figure’s arm cannon can be removed and actually needs to be in order to transform into car mode. The instructions show that when in car mode, the cannon with the missle inserted can be stored into the empty space under the car. Overall a much nicer presentation than the previous movie line, with a few flaws, not enough to take it down any. The transformation is the same as the previous movie Bumblebee. There is also a Shoulder Cannon Bumblebee, with similar car and robot mode, in this new movie’s toy line. I’ve seen the transformation for that one and it is complicated and drastically different compared to the other one. Highly recommend getting this one though.

A Bumblebee that really stresses, “More than meets the eye…”4
I passed this guy up my first few trips to the store in favor of better figures (leader Prime and Megatron). He didn’t look all that great in the package. I finally picked him up with Deluxe Skids, and even then, didn’t bother with him until after I messed around with Skids for a while, who is also cool. Once you actually start messing around with the toy, you can see the charm it has, much like the actual Bumblebee character. The head sculpt is dead on. The detail in robot and car mode is very nice. It’s a well articulated figure, and can stand and be posed fairly well. Turning him into car mode takes a little finesse to get complete, but it’s not a complex transformation like Prime. Yes, pieces pop off, but like some of the more observent reviewers have pointed out, they are meant to do that so the brand new toy isn’t permenently broke. They go back easily, and stay on. The gun arm is MENT to come off in car mode. A very cool and fun figure.

Unbelieveable, until you get it in your hands!5
When I first spied leaked photos of this figure, it was difficult to imagine they could make such a toy transform tightly into the truck that we all know. This one must be seen (or better, physically handled) to be believed! The transformation is amazing, and more intricate than anything before seen in the movie lines (and probably in any Transformers line, actually, ‘cept perhaps some of the Masterpieces).

Plastics seem to be a little better than the first movie Prime, and the paints are finely done as well. Super poseable and stable. Parts are easy to pop-off, but pop back easily as well (which if you accept, puts the durability to at least 4 stars). Sounds are improved, with a line from Peter Cullen this time round. And the best thing? It’s probably as movie accurate as possible, short of making a bigger toy!

Negatives? Well, the wheels are now plastic (not rubber), and have a habit of going out of line in truck mode. The fingers/thumb are no longer articulated. The head doesn’t really look up (mainly side-to-side). The Transformation will test most adults, let alone children! And the way some pieces pop-off may be annoying to some buyers.

Despite the negatives, though, this is one amazing figure, and can be very highly recommended. If you only get one Revenge of the Fallen figure, then make it Leader class Optimus Prime!

A True Work Of Art5
I’ve been collecting transformers since I was a kid and if there’s one thing I’ve ALWAYS hated about the toys up until now, it’s that the product never accurately matched up with the character on the screen. Now, keep in mind that back in my day, things like what we see in CGI films like Transformers weren’t at all possible…but Takara Tomy finally broke that depressing streak with THIS figure. This has got to be the most impressive example of planning upon planning for a perfected design that features an extremely complex transformation (at first)- but after the first few times you get the steps down pretty easily (only took me a few days). If you compare the 2007 model/version of this figure to the newly redesigned 09′ model- you’ll see a SIGNIFICANT difference in character comparison. This IS Optimus Prime, not just some inaccurate toy, it’s so close to the CGI character that I don’t see any mistakes in the design- if anything it’s PERFECT. Every detail matches up with the CGI design so well that it’s just AWSOME! The toy is durable, AND when you transform it, parts don’t rub against each other and mess up the paint job- which i know some perfectionist collectors ABSOLUTELY hate. Buy this figure, because I honestly don’t think you’ll ever find another TF product this close to character/toy accuracy! BUT, i will say this- if you’re a real collector and you want character/toy accuracy…go with the Takara Tomy version instead of the Hasbro version. The Takara Tomy version’s name is RA-01 Optimus Prime and you can find him on the web in plenty of online stores. Get that version, because if you look closely you’ll see that it’s paintjob is actually correct while Hasbro’s model has some of it’s parts painted red instead of silver- don’t settle for that lol. Mkay, well- happy hunting and have fun with this product!

no words nesessary?5
This is truely the figure to get out of all of the Transformers ROTF toys. Brilliantly reimagined with a painstaking transformation not recommended for children under 10 years. Also the lack of pin and hinge support is apparent when parts suddenly pop off but can just as easily be put back on. Also the fingers are not articulated like the last one and it has plastic tires. But these are very minor flaws considering the accuracy of the robot/truck mode. All I can say is that this IS the definitive, though pricier, movie leader class Optimus Prime. Go through amazon, they are a very trustworthy organization for things like these. They find the very best possible in terms of quality and steadfast service. Those are the values that I found anyway. the toy iteself is approximatly 13′ inches tall, slightly taller than the last film’s Optimus Prime. Very detailed with a really cool gimmic called “Mech Alive”. That means that they have incorporated very good design features to where actual moving gears that would normally be seen in their films counterparts, are found in the figures themselves. Improved animatic strips away the separating windows, pop-up head & space laser noise, with something more refined. With chest piece pushed down, his torso moves with startling realizm as if he were talking a deep breath to say a simple line, “I AM OPTIMUS PRIME” in Peter Cullen’s actual voice no less (Peter Cullen is Optimus Prime for those of you who don’t already know that). Stop reading this review, and just get it! 10++++++ A++++++++ (CRANK’S THE KNOB TO ELEVEN)

much better than the styrofoam havoc heli5
Yes the body is plastic. But the stuff for the tail is still paper which disappoints me because it rips easily. It is alittle heavier and has alittle less flight time. But i still prefer this one over the styrofoam ones because it flies pretty fast.

Wow! It’s plastic!5
Yes that’s Air Hogs Havoc Heli 10th Anniversary Edition is plastic. All you have to do is trim the havoc heli which took awhile, you have to press L till the turning stops same thing with R.After that you can easily fly the plane. You probably want to put on the aluminum stickers on for a different proformance, mine started crashing right away.So if you have to by a present this is great for someone who has flown a couple of air hogs planes!

Best Air Hog yet!5
This is by far the BEST Air Hog plane/heli we have ever purchased. My 10 year old son has had this plane for over 2 months and it still works like brand new after many many flights. He loves it and has gotten quite good at flying it! My husband and I can’t believe how smooth it flys and how long it can stay up in the air without crashing. Well worth the money without a doubt.

Pleased with Overall product for an RC Plane4
We have been through a few of the RC planes, most have broken within a few runs. However, this one has survived and handles well. The remote takes a little practice to “get it”, but is convenient because you charge the plane from it. You should be doing manuevers and banks in no time at all. We continue to have fun with this, weather permitting.

Great Flying Fun4
This was a GREAT birthday gift my wife picked out for our nine year old son. Once we figured out the best way to fly it, and how to deal with breezes, it was a breeze! The plane is a lot of fun. It recharges quickly although make sure the charge light it lit and that might take some wiggling. It is VERY light so high winds will take it far, far away, and into trees that might be there, so I would follow the directions about flying it in slight or no breezes only! It is also ‘delicate’ so we found that if you leave the power on in a dive, it dives very quickly, whereas if you cut the engines, it rightens itself - if it is high enough from the ground - and if not it crashes with a little less CRASH!! We love it, but don’t drop a book on it!

Great fun..for a day3
Got this Christmas morning as a present to myself mostly but everyone in the family had a blast… while they lasted.

Amazon recommended that I also buy replacement rotors with this at checkout. Be warned that the top rotors CANNOT be replaced! Spinmaster (which these are) Havoc Heli rotors are fixed to their shaft. There is no documentation or warning about this. The instructions make no mention of ever needing to replace the top rotor. Luckily they were only a few extra dollars.

After about 5 hours of use, the shaft for the rotors that propel the heli upwards came lose from the motor and there is no way to reconnect them. We had a fair amount of crashes into walls, but no serious abuse. Both helicopters failed in the same battery charge.

Next time I will buy a heli that I can replace parts for. Even though these ones broke, it was still a blast while they worked and I would like to fly again.

Great fun!5
Having owned Air Hogs products before, we bought the Battling Havoc Helis knowing how delicate the actual toy would be and how much practice is required for flying one with skill/precision.

That said, we are having a blast with our helicopters. We have a small living/dining area and it is a battleground for air hog laser tag. The units charge rather quickly (especially compared to the Air Hogs jet we own) and they provide 5-6 minutes flying time with each charge.

For the most part, we are two adults playing with them and we have only successfully “shot” each other a few times over two days of play so we still have a lot of practicing to do. We have 6 and 7 year old children who also like to participate in the fun, and they are able to fly the helicopters around the room. Shooting or really steering their machines is a bit much for their ages. This is definitely a teen/adult toy, but the entertainment is enjoyed by all.

Make sure to read the instructions/watch the DVD–especially if you are new to Air Hogs products to optimize the fun.

helicopters5
i bought these helicopters for my husband and he has a blast with them. he has fun just flying them around the house and learning new manuvers. overall i thought it was a great purchase.

Eats batteries like crazy!3
We got this in the mail, and my son couldn’t wait to use it. He charged it up, and turned it on. IT IS SUPER LOUD. Louder than a vacuum and the tv on at the same time. The only thing that saved it from being thrown out was the light on my son and his best friends face when it actually stuck to the wall and zoomed past me. However, another downfall was the battery life. It is pretty much non-existent. He can only get a few good runs out of it before it dies, and when it DOES die, it literally just drops off the wall wherever it’s at.

Waste of $$1
My 7 year old got this for his birthday. The first one didn’t work at all other than making a horrible noise. The second one broke almost immediately. Battery life extremely low and it falls off the wall when the charge runs out. Don’t waste your money on this one.

Not good enough for the cost3
It’s a pretty good toy, but for how expensive it is it should perform better. The car’s four wheels are just cosmetic - really there are two small wheels hidden under the body’s plastic shell. The two-wheel design makes driving on walls that aren’t completely smooth tough, cause the car won’t be able to drive up parts that bump out. Having the car’s four wheels not really turn looks cheap and less cool.

It drives pretty well on the walls and ceiling, but it moves pretty slow. On the ground it’s faster, about the speed you’d expect for such a small R/C.

The car is noisy when it’s in wall-mode, the fan is about as loud as a hairdryer. It’s fallen off the wall a few times and not been damaged, because it’s so light it seems durable enough to stand up to normal use.

It’s pretty fun to drive on the walls and ceiling, but I wish it were faster and that all four wheels actually spun. It’s expensive for not having those features.

I want more5
My first impression was chintzy remote and OK helicopter. I still think the remote is chintzy, but I absolutely love the copter. It took a bit of tweaking (as per instructions) to make it behave. No problem. After that, it was just too much fun. It survived some rowdy use at a party and it did run into things and experienced some severe mishaps including being swatted into a wall. It required super glue and re-tweaking post swat.

I wish it was quicker to charge and had controls for forward and back. I don’t know how long the controller will last. It isn’t built for the long haul like video game controllers are. On the other hand, it might outlast the copter given various mischievious impulses.

Note: the rotor should not be allowed to hit bare skin. It hurts. Some people will pretend it doesn’t hurt, but will seek revenge.

Extra great fun with slight modification…5
I’ve really been enjoyiong my helicopter, but it definitely takes some time to learn and finesse to control. It’s very sensitive to slight movements on the controller. I was having a hard time getting it to move forward until I added some weight to the front of the nose. I tried a few things, including a dime, which caused it to zoom forward and hit the walls before I could turn it. Then it tried taping bits of aluminum foil to the front, adding bit by bit until I got the right amount of forward motion. Now I can drive it around the house with great control. The best toy I’ve bought for under $[...] in a long time!

Unbelievably addicting.5
These helicopters are fantastic. The quality of construction is superb (meaning they can crash a lot and keep going) and they are incredibly fun to fly. I can’t believe some of the less-than-perfect reviews I’ve seen here, especially the complaints that they are hard to fly. I suspect some of these folks were hoping to be Airwolf/Blue Thunder as soon as they opened the box. It doesn’t work like that. Here are some tips:

There is an altitude control and a left/right control only. There is no means for making the helicopter go forward right out of the box. In order to make them go forward you have to add a small bit of weight to the end of the nose so the helicopter dips down a little bit in the front. There are a few stick-on pads included in the box just for this purpose but I’ve found they’re not quite enough weight. I add all three pads centered on the bottom about a half-inch under the nose and then a little extra weight (half a small paperclip or a little wire) taped right to the tip of the nose. Too much weight and it’ll go forward too fast. Experiment to see what you like best. I’d recommend getting comfortable with hovering and trim before you add anything though (and be sure to read the instructions for some great tips).

The helicopter when fully charged is almost too powerful. Once it runs for a minute or so the battery power drops off a tiny bit and flight becomes a *lot* more stable. Be patient.

It takes a *really* fine touch on the controls, working both at the same time, to get solid, consistent flight and you’ll only get that with a lot of practice. I’d say most people can get good in about 6 full charge/fly cycles if they have some RC plane flying experience, maybe 8 if you have no prior experience. This helicopter is durable enough for you to learn on just remember to *NOT* try to fly out of impending crashes. Instead just kill the power and let it drop, you’ll do a lot less damage to the chopper that way. Also, there is a tendency to want to move your body one way or the other when you think the chopper should go in a different direction (especially if it starts to get near a wall, I’ve seen my wife jerk the controller to the left or the right in a panic). If you find yourself doing this (because you’re *really* getting into it ;-), remember that they fly on IR not radio so you need (for the most part) to keep the controller pointed at the helicopter. If you jerk it away it won’t do anything other than reduce the signal to the chopper which will give you less control. In practice though we haven’t really noticed any IR signal loss so maybe it isn’t that big of a deal.

We have six of these between me, my kids, my Dad and my brother. We can all fly any of them with the skill shown in the Air Hogs commercial in my living room, which is about 15′x15′x12′, so I believe anyone can get really good with these if you just practice (and it’s tons of fun so it won’t be a problem). If you have kids less than 10 years old you will probably want to show them how to be really gentle with the controls. Of course if they play video games they’re probably already really good at that kind of thing. ;)

You can’t go wrong with one of these for cheap entertainment but be careful, they’re addicting. It’s *really* easy to get hooked and want to go out and buy all three (which is what I did, sigh, my wife had to have her own too ;-)
