Cta Digital Ps-gr Psp Grip

Cta Digital Ps-gr Psp Grip

Works well, cheap and essential…4
I can agree slightly that it is cheap. The plastic isn’t as hard as I would have thought in some places but it doesn’t take away from the purpose. These are simple and effective grips for your PSP. They work very well and hold the PSP in place nicely. It makes switching games not as easy without it but relieves your palms from craps and provides a better grip of the PSP. They work fine while walking, normal play etc. It is a bit bulky to carry, the arms that hold the PSP in place dont fold in or anything but other than that these are great. Cheap, practical and essential!

Effective, comfortable, recommend for PSP slim owners.4
I bought this product, and am very happy with it. It is easy to use, and is effective for relieving hand tension. Very useful for people with large hands.

the only qualm i have with it is that it doesn’t not fit perfectly on a PSP-1000. It seems like it was designed for a PSP slim. It still works just fine on an original PSP, but it can slide around in the seat a little.

Perfect for aching hands!4
I have been playing GTA VCS relentlessly for the past few weeks and my hands hurt like heck - especially my left thumb. By the simple attachment of these grips to my PSP I have created a MUCH more comfortable and ergonomic playtime.

The only thing I could possibly improve upon it would be to strengthen the clips that hold it to the PSP - sometimes it wiggles a little and I have to straighten it out, but it is WELL WORTH THE EFFORT!

If only Sony had thought about ergonomics when it was designing the PSP!

PSP Slim delivers5
NOTE: The Rachet game, the family guy collection and the memory stick only come with the 199.99 bundle. The 169.99 PSP Black Slim does not come with these items.

The new PSP is 19% thinner and 30% lighter. Should definitely notice the difference as soon as its in your hands. Here are the pros and cons

Pros:
+ Video Out to your TV. Watch your UMD movies and Games on your screen. This is the perhaps the best feature of any handheld.
+ Much lighter, feels really good in your hands.
+ The D-Pad has been upgrades. Fighting Game Lovers rejoice!
+ The analog nub also feels more responsive.
+ Buttons are raised making them easier to click.
+ The LCD is brighter, has a higher refresh rate and the colors are more vibrant.
+ UMD games load faster.
+ The memory has been doubled in this unit to allow developers to build caches they can then use to make games load much faster.
+ Even games that dont implement caches, load faster due to an automatic new caching done by the system.
+ Ability to eat less battery life.
+ Daxter Game is included! This is one of the best games for the PSP
+ 1Gig memory stick is included.
+ Family Guy freaking sweet collection UMD included.
+ Price. For $200 you are getting a lot. PSP system, a game, family guy compilation, a new color, and memory stick. All for $30 more than PSP slim black. I would definitely recommend getting the bundle.

Cons:
-Yes the packaging is a bit cheap.
-UMD tray may not impress. It feels cheaper.

Hopefully you guys enjoy this little system. It really is a sexy looking thing and with critically acclaimed titles like crush and Jeanne d’arc and other games like Final Fantasy 7 Crisis Core, Wipeout Pulse, and God of War over the horizon, you wouldn’t be a true gamer without one. If you like your handheld games at the same quality as your console games then what are you waiting for. pick this up.

Simply spiffy!5
I’d never played with a PSP until yesterday. I’d see a friend of mine playing Lumines when it first came out, but that was about it.

Now I begin to see what I’d been missing.

I bought the PSP Daxter Entertainment Pack - Ice Silver version of the PSP hardware yesterday on something of a whim. I’d heard decent things, read some reviews and thought it might be a good investment. Plus, hey,Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions was out, and I wanted to play that.

I turned out to be a good purchase! The unit itself is very well-designed and comfortable to use. The display screen is incredibly vivid and bright. The interface is nicely designed. I had a few problems getting onto the internet at first, but I managed to resolve those within a few minutes (the little web-browser they have built-in to the software is… ok. Not great, but it gets the job done).

In fact, about the only thing I would have liked that did not come with this system was a USB cable. Fortunately I was able to find one at my local game store and now I can hook this sucker directly up to my computer. Very useful, given that I now am able to play MP3s on my PSP, as well as store photos!

In addition to the system, I also got a one gig memory chip. That’s pretty handy! It also came with Daxter, which I haven’t played too much, but it’s proving fun. It also came with Family Guy - The Freakin Sweet Collection (UMD Mini for PSP). Alone, these items would likely add quite a bit more to the expense, but they came included for only a little more than the system itself (I sold the UMD, however. Why? Well, partly cause I have that same product on DVD and partly cause I just don’t “get” the whole UMD thing. They’re overpriced, have no extras and just aren’t very interesting).

I’ve owned and enjoyed a Nintendo DS Lite Onyx Black, but I gotta say this little system is worlds away. You get video games, internet access, an MP3 player, a movie player (though not my thing, as mentioned), and a picture viewer, all for not too much more than a DS. Nintendo, I love you, but in this case Sony has the best product (don’t hate me!).

The only down-sides I see is that this is not a system for younger kids (what with the UMD discs), and it is a little larger than the DS. It would be nice if it came with a wrist strap, since I’m sure dropping it would have tragic consequences, and as I said before I would’ve liked to have had a USB cable in the box. But still, I’m happy with what I bought and I think you would be, too!

Simply Amazing!5
The new PSP is everything you could ever want in a handheld! I finally got my hands on one after about a month and a half of eager waiting and I am ready to review!

Pros:
+33% Lighter than the last psp: This feature is really good and is actually very noticible. With the old PSP (that my brother purchased awhile back) my wrist actually would get tired after while because it was a little clunky. But this was not the case this time around. I’ve played daxter 50% through the game, and I havn’t had any problems. It’s the perfect wieght, and you will notice it right out of the box!

+19% Slimmer: The humps on the back of the old psp were not bad, but the straight back of the new one is phenomenal! It feels so comfortable in your hand it’s rediculous! Not a much needed change, but a very appreciated one.

+New UMD Bay: The new UMD Bay is very nice! Alot of people feel that it’s really cheap, but I like it way better! It’s much less complex than the other, which is very good! With the other one, I actually messed up one of my brothers games trying to get it in there.

+Faster Loading Times: The faster times are not a dramatic improvement, but you can most definately tell! Two games with probably the worst loading times on PSP are Mortal Kombat Unchained and GTA: Vice City Stories. Both games still have an undesirble amount of loading in the actual game itself, but the added flash memory makes it much less painful. I actually have time to enjoy those games now! And yes, 5 seconds does make a difference!

+Video Out: Very nice feature! I went ahead and bought the cables with a gift card I had to target, and I was very pleased. I think it’s pretty cool to hook it up and play daxter on your tv, and watch family guy as well! I had fun with that!

+Better D-pad and Analog Nub: You can tell that the D-pad and analog nub are way more responsive! I was very impressed when I was playing my mortal kombat game. It was much more responsive than the last PSP.

+Battery Life: I can tell a difference in battery life. It seems like this thing last forever. I’ve had it since Thursday(9/6/07) and I’ve only charged it once!

+Package Contents: It comes with one of the greatest PSP games, and probably the most funniest show on the planet! It also comes with a 1gb memory stick, which is a very good improvement over the 32 MB. This value would definately be $240 sold sepertately. So this bundle saves you a good 40 bucks! Which is gas money for me! :)

Cons:

-Glossy Finish: After awhile it gets really annoying, especially if your hands start to sweat. It makes the psp look extremely nice, don’t get me wrong, but I much rather prefer comfort over looks. And the glossy finish isn’t a real winner with me, but it will do!

-Daxter and Family guy Packaging: I was kind of upset that daxter and family guy came in cheap cardboard cut out packages. I would have liked the real case, so it would fit in my collection better, but I guess this will do for now.

-No wrist strap/Ear Buds: I wasn’t very dissapointed that it didn’t come with a wrist strap or earbuds because I have my own, but It is kind of sad because it came with the last PSP. I hope sony will start packing them in the future.

Other than those 3 little Cons the new PSP really delivers! If you already have a psp, there is seriously no need to update. The features are not worth buying an entire new one. But if you have never bought one, like me, and you are planning on buying one, buy this one for sure!

Tips from a new user5
I’m sure most gamers have added this as their second or third PSP, but for me it’s my first. I thought I’d make some suggestions for new users.

1. Before you do anything else, buy a memory stick, a Pro Duo. You can’t do anything useful without it.

2. Buy a USB cable (5 pin mini). It doesn’t come with one, and you’ll need it to download stuff from your PC to the PSP.

3. Buy a protective case and screen protector. I bought a Joytron case and InvisibleShield. The Joytron fits perfectly on the slim.

4. Be careful when connecting the PSP to older computers. It’s very powerful, and I overloaded the USB port on my older work computer when I tried to connect it.

5. When transferring music or video to the PSP, here’s how you do it:
a. Plug in the PSP, and go to “USB Connection” in the menu
b. Wait for your computer to recognize it
c. Go into My Computer and look for the drive where the PSP is
d. Open the PSP
e. Look for the Music folder (or Video)
f. When moving music over, first create a folder with the album title on it in the Music folder on the PSP, *then* copy over the music into the folder. For example, I created a “Battlestar Galactica Season 1″ folder inside the Music folder on the PSP. Then I copied over the MP3s. Copying whole folders gives you an error.

6. Sign up for the Playstation Store. You can download free demos of many popular games (like Patapon), along with themes and wallpapers for the PSP. I like this method of free demos, because I can have multiple demos on my PSP and only carry two UMDs with me and never get bored.

Oh, Yeah!!5
I am so glad that I got this great system. I like that this comes with one of the leading games for sony and movie that is just over the top funny.

Plus and minuses of the system.

+Small light weight unit and nice size screen.
+Has more selection of adult games. Compared to other handhelds.
+Plays movies, music, pictures and videos.

-Hard to hold for someone with big hands. (Tendinitis hurts!)
-Screen gets dirty quick. (Suggests getting screen protection.)
-No memory card. (Suggests getting a sanDisk.) cheaper then other brands.
-Price to much.

If you are like me and need a little gaming on the move with more games for 18+ gamer (with deep pockets) then this is for you.

**Remember that a memory card is not included with this combo and so when purchasing this unit look for a memory card as well.

PSP God of War Pack Rocks!5
Picked this bundle up today, comes with 2 games, God of War Chains of Olympus and Syphon Filter combat ops, which is a downloadable game, and UMD of Superbad. The red color on the PSP looks slick, and Kratos is silkscreened on the back on the battery cover. Once I took it out of the box, I immediately put a plastic screen protector on, charged the battery, and off I went. I downloaded Syphon filter with the included code, to my PS3, then used the USB to put it on my PSP. I set up the PSP for remote play through the PS3 so I could watch my videos and listen to music on my PSP. Setup was really easy it took no time at all. The screen is alot clearer than the older PSP I have and is somewhat thinner and lighter. Playing God of War on a handheld I thought would be horrid, to my surprise it was actually very well done, one of the best games I have ever played on PSP. Watching the Superbad UMD, I was trying to figure out why it was included in this great bundle, I liked the movie, I personally think the movie 300 would of fit the whole theme better, for 199. + tax this is a great deal. This pack does not come with a memory stick so if you don’t have one, you will need to buy one. The Jack and Daxter bundle has sold over 2 million, I believe this one will outsell that eventually. If you like God of War, and RED, get this.

Customer Reviews

Buying decision help4
You’ve probably done a lot of research and read reviews already, so I’ll just keep this short and hit the highlights.

- The screen: Yeah, it’s nice. I have no dead pixels.

- The games: A little skimpy right now, but I can easily imagine REALLY good ones coming to this platform. If you can live without a PSP for a while, you may want to wait for the good stuff. I haven’t tried any multiplayer games yet, but I’m looking forward to it.

- The video player: VERY nice. The Spiderman 2 movie looks fantastic. The movies are a little skimpy right now too, but if rental places (Blockbuster, airport stores…) start carrying lots of titles and new releases, the device is worth the purchase as a portable movie player alone. I hope there are plans for making UMD-R/RWs, because the memory stick is not yet practical for day-to-day storage of your own stuff.

- The MP3 player: More bulky than most that are out these days, but good enough. It’s a nice extra feature, but don’t buy it for this functionality alone. (Is anyone anyway?) The included remote is handy.

- The geek features: USB connectivity is kind of slow, but that’s probably because of USB, not the PSP. I had a little trouble connecting to my Linksys wireless router. I had to assign an IP address because it wouldn’t get a DHCP address automagically. Speaking of wireless, it SURE would be nice to be able to move files back and forth using a wireless network instead of USB, but I don’t think this functionality exists (yet). Haven’t used the IR port yet, don’t know what it’s good for since USB connectivity is included. Also, there are already hacks to make the PSP a Web browser and IRC client. This functionality was already built in, which tells me that Sony has plans for more functionality coming down the pipeline.

- Spiffiness: Very. They put a lot of thought into the design of this device, and I think it really paid off. I appreciate little things like the button to disable the wireless and the switch to disable all of the buttons (for watching movies or listening to mp3s) except the remote buttons. I wish the case were a little more ergonomic, but with the right grippie/protector, it’s fine.

- What you’ll need in addition:
1) A bigger memory card. For it to be useful at all, you’ll want at least 256MB. I would recommend at least 512MB, but they’re curiously hard to find anywhere now. 32MB just plain sucks.
2) Some sort of screen/unit protection, such as the rubber cover. You do NOT want that screen to get scratched!
3) Some games. It comes with none. I don’t like the bundles that everyone is selling, because there’s no discount. (Add up the price of the bundle and compare it with the prices of the separate items…) I suggest getting the Value Pack and picking your own games and accessories.
4) A carrying case and some UMD disc cases would be nice, otherwise they’ll get scattered all about. The games and movies do NOT come with a protective case, so unless you plan on ALWAYS returning the disks to their almost DVD box-sized boxes, you’ll need something to keep the discs from getting scratched.

If you’re the kind of person who has to have a PSP now, I think you’ll thoroughly enjoy it. If you’re not, then don’t let all the hype change your mind. It solidly earns four out of five stars right now, and as more games and movies are released, that rating will crawl towards five. If you’re somewhat interested in buying one, though, I do think you’ll eventually get one because it is a lot of fun and quite useful. Hopefully this will help in your purchasing decision!

Plasma screen in your pocket!5
I ordered the Sony PSP way before Dec. 14, 2004. The first thing I noticed when I opened the box was the shining, crystal clear, liquid-like 4.5″ screen! If you cover the control pad and buttons to reveal just the screen, you might think this is a tiny Plasma screen you’re holding!

I also own a Nintendo DS, so I am being very fair here; the dual screens is a nice touch; my wife loves to play ZooKeeper using the stylus; but compare the screens to the Sony PSP’s screen, it is not as sharp as the PSP.

The menu on the PSP is pretty intuitive, easy to navigate. Control pad and buttons are layout just like a regular Sony PS2 controller, except the joystick on the PSP, it looks like a round tape covering a hole or something, and I almost thought it is something I should remove. The analog pad is a little hard to use when playing any game requires precised movement, like Super bobble pop type of game, or shooters using cross-hair; but once get used to it, not a problem. The WiFi connection is easy to configure - switch it on and search and connect. I am getting a US verson next month to play wireless game with my wife.

People who has seen and played the PSP will tell you, the graphics are awesome! (yes it is a over-used word, but you’ll agree with me if you own one.) I showed it to the guys at the cellphone store while playing Ridge Racer, immediately they formed a line and took turn to play with their jaws dropping to the floor!

I also tried some MPEG4 video playback using a 512MB MS Duo, now this is what a portable AV player should be! It’s like watching a DVD movie on a plasma tv, smaller of course! No wonder Sony is going to including SpiderMan 2 movie for the first 1 million PSP shipped in the US. Watch it and you will see what I mean.

This is really a nice portable entertainment system, and yes, it plays MP3 nicely. It is larger than Apple IPod, but I love that big screen! Don’t forget to get a screen protector and a carrying case, you want the screen look good.

Dont get the Value Pack1
DONT GET THE VALUE PACK!!!

All the extra items you get in the value pack is not worth the money. The memory card is too small and you’re most likely going to get a new one with a larger capacity. The headphones are cheap and will not last more than a month. You are most likely going to get a new carrying case for your PSP also. It is not worth the extra $60.

PSP 3000 Limited Edition Rock Band Unplugged Entertainment Pack

PSP 3000 Limited Edition Rock Band Unplugged Entertainment Pack

Customer Reviews

Perfect PSP Bundle (our second)5
We’ve been a PS3 household ever since the 60GB version came about so, with two pre-teens in the house, we were ripe for a PSP adoption. We actually bought the Ratchet & Clank Pack a few months ago because one of my kids was a fan of the game. Now, with 2 boys and one girl in the house, one PSP turns out not to be enough. We’re on Hold for the Hannah Montana edition for our little girl but we had no choice but get the Rock Band edition for the one who just turned ‘teen’ last week.

The bundle costs a few more than the ‘clean’ PSP-3000 but, in our case, the convenience of getting it together with the game AND a memory card AND a downloaded movie justified the extra expense because the kid REALLY wanted both the PSP and the game and, if you add up all that you get with the bundle, you come out ahead this way.

The ‘Pack’ includes the following:

- The PSP 3000 itself in black
- 4GB memory card
- The game on a UMD disk
- A downloadable movie voucher
- Manual, promos, registration card, etc.

I couldn’t discuss Rock Band myself because I don’t really play Rock Band and my kid is still practicing so, see Rock Band Unplugged for absolutely EXCELLENT reviews from those who spent some serious time rocking on the PSP (I salute you). And here are the reviews for School of Rock (Widescreen Edition) (for the movie itself not for the PSN download).

Given the PSP’s built-in Wi-Fi and its PS3 integration you can do quite a few things out of the box if you have Wi-Fi or a PS3 but, for a better gaming experience we ordered a 16GB memory stick and will be using the included 4GB on a camera because we are planning to store a few movies when taking it on the road. Movies take about 0.5GB.

* First impressions:
——————-
I was surprised of how good and versatile and elegant this little console can be. It has most of the PS3 buttons, including one analog joystick, the display is large and bright, the resolution is good (480×272), and it responds quickly to controls. It appears to be solidly built. Unlike prior models, this one comes with a built-in microphone while the sound output can be either through the internal speakers or headphones (not included). After charging the battery, my kid was up and running and happy in no time. But, let me proceed with a more structured discussion.

* Stand alone operation (disconnected):
————————————–
The PSP 3000 will play games or movies delivered on UMDs or off a Memory Stick card. In addition, it will display photos and play music stored on the Memory card.

* Networking and Internet connectivity:
————————————–
The built-in Wi-Fi allows the PSP 3000 to access the Playstation Netowork and Playstation Store directly. Off the box, there is an Internet browser, a Search (the Internet) function, several Internet Radio applications and the ability to use the PSP as a Skype phone for as long as one has a Skype account and the PSP happens to be within the range of a Wi-Fi hotspot.

* PS3 Integration:
—————–
After the PSP is paired with the PS3, the PS3 can ‘push’ video, photos, music and even PSP games downloaded from the Playstation Store when connected through a USB wire. When wireless, the PSP can basically take over the PS3 - actually display the PS3’s own screen and display photos stored on the PS3, play music stored on the PS3. Movie play is not supported. Amazingly, you can access your PS3 remotely from anywhere in the Universe for as long as your PSP can access the Net via Wi-Fi.

When playing music, it’s possible to play it on the PSP’s own speakers/headphones or have the PS3 play it itself, the PSP therefore acting as a remote control device.

I suspect that additional capabilities exist that I am not aware of yet and we uncover new uses and new features all the time.

* PC integration:
—————-
Through a USB connection, the PC will see the PSP’s memory card as an attached drive. This will allow for music, photo or movie files to be transferred directly to the PSP.

* Room for improvement:
———————-
The PSP 3000 comes very close to being the perfect portable game-playing (and more) machine, at least in the Sony universe. Perfection would be achieved if the ‘keyboard’ interface were improved - it’s awful now - if it had touch screen capabilities and if file transfers from the PS3 were possible wirelessly. Also on the wish list, I hope that there were more legal ‘digital copy’ movies available for the PSP. And Bluetooth.

* PSP-3000 vs. PSP Go:
———————
The question begs itself: how about a PSP Go? Well, in our case, the Go was out of the question because it wasn’t available for purchase on our kid’s birthday, the price is a little to high - we have 3 kids - and because, at this time, we would rather keep our games on disks so that they can be easily shared amongst our tribe and won’t be depended too much on our memory card’s limitations. Of course, our concerns may not apply to everyone.

* Rating:
——–
For anyone into Rock Band, this is the perfect bundle. If Rock Band is not your game, then you are probably better off with a ‘clean’ PSP and then get your own memory card, games, movies, etc.

For what you get, it’s a 4.5 stars plus, rounded up to 5.

Note:

It would be almost sinful not to protect your new PSP. We use PSP Logitech PlayGear Pocket - Slim. It doesn’t have compartments to store UMDs or memory cards but it does wrap around your 3000 like a glove and, in my view, it provides the best protection.

Fantastic price at Amazon5
I bought this for my son and now we both use it almost every day.
Adding a 16gb pro duo card makes this the best portable device for your music, videos etc.
Upgrading to the media Manager for PSP helps a bit to convert basic files. I can now listen to my podcast and certain files are automatically converted.
You will need to purcahse a program to convert your personal DVDs to the MP4 format to see them on your PSP.
Also the S Component cable to view the display on your TV along with a starter kit as this is not included in the 17 in one starter kit.
Again Amazon had the best price, the wait was worth it.

Outstanding Portable Game System5
The all new slimmer PSP 3000 comes in with a couple of new upgrades over the 2000 model. Primarily for the Skype functionality, a microphone is onboard along with a reduced glare 4.3″ screen. As far as glare reduction goes, I did not see that much of a difference over the PSP 2000. Its a given that fingerprints will still be a continued problem for the PSP line. Thankfully, the age old problem of ghosting has yet to appear on my new PSP 3000. One of the sweeter features now is an upgraded (AV) video output support. Owners can now operate their systems with regular (NON HD) TV. I suggest buyers pick up a good add on composite or component cable. With the usual collection of great games, improved graphics is a major plus.

As with all previous models, control buttons layout are very much like the classic Play Station. One area of concern is that load times for the UMD (Universal Media Disc) seemed to drag a bit. Its a given that purchasing the kit which includes the proprietary MS Duo Card is more cost effective in the end. Its obvious that Sony missed the boat when it went with its own proprietary format instead of the more widely used and less costly SD standard.

Even though Wi-fi capable, the unit is outfitted with possibly the slowest version (802.11b) on the planet. It powers up via a 5 volt ac adapter or USB. Video playback is great as long as you copy your favorites on the memory stick Duo Card. Going any other way is definitely a slow dragged out process. When it comes to television, Sony’s own version of Slingbox allows for free tv viewing. This PSP won’t get confused with your IPOD anytime soon but music play is generally good. Another added feature is that it will even support music art. If one is going to display photos on the PSP I strongly suggest compressing your files. Photo display can be slide show or singles.

The PSP 3000 is also a web browser. However, its hit and miss for flash. Streaming internet radio via Shoutcast is a freebie. PSP offers a regular schedule of firmware updates. As with the earlier editions, via a network or the internet the unit can pick up audio, video and photo files that are stored on a PS3. The PSP 3000 comes with the standard 1200 mAh rechargeable battery. Battery life runs almost a full 5 hours whether one is gaming or watching a movie.

Necessary accessories such as a protective screen cover, headphones and a carrying case are not included. Not all PSP headphones are compatible with the PSP 3000. When purchasing headphones read the specs carefully. Even without the accessories, PSP 3000 still brings it on. I would definitely recommend this model as a gift or me purchase.

piano black = finger prints!5
this is my first psp i got the piano black ratchet and clank pack.and to be honest this litle thang has a better picture than my 32″crt tv! this thang is loaded with awesome goodies; web browser, skype, internet radio, just to name a few. i got the piano black thinking the finger print issue wasnt to bad i was way wrong there. ive had it a day and i have to repeatedly wipe off the prints and smuges from the psp and the screen. there is glair its hard to play under a bright light. and if your like me and not tec savy you will have trouble setting up remote play on a ps3, it took me like an hour to get it done. i would recomend this to any one that liked games.

pros: great value in the bundle; beautiful design; lots of features

cons: heavy smuging; odd first feel of button layout; tiny weak sound through speakers, short battery charg life

Another added feature is that it will even support music art. If one is going to display photos on the PSP I strongly suggest compressing your files. Photo display can be via slide show or singles.

Of note, the PSP is also a web browser.

Necessary accessories such as the Memory Stick Duo card, protective screen cover, headphones and a carrying case are not included. Not all PSP headphones are compatible with the PSP 3000. When purchasing headphones read the specs carefully. Even without the included accessories, the PSP 3000 still brings it on. I would definitely recommend this model as a gift or as a personal purchase. After all, it is Play Station.

Handheld entertainment bonanza5
With a wealth of games and movies, the new refined PSP is a big bonanza. It is slim, sleek and bright. Either if you are new to PSP or upgrading from PSP1000, this one has a lot to offer. Inbuilt microphone, bright LCD scree, better battery life, smoother inputs and more ergonomic placement of master controls. This is a very well designed machine, if you have checked the past PSP history they have very long life. Perfect for both adults and young ones. 08 had more than 10 block busters for PSP. 09 is promising to be another great one with more goods coming from Japan and EU. Most important of all Little Big planet and Resistance Retribution. All the PSP2000 accessories are compatible with PSP3000, every thing from case to car chargers. As with PSP2000 this one sport a larger RAM. With additional hardware resources it supports a wide variety of media including 720×480p H.264/MP4 DVD quality movies, wma, mp3 and more.

Now one important warning. Memory Stick Duo is one of the most pirated card in black market. Pay up and buy from trusted vendors. Cheap cards sold in ebay and other 3rd party vendors are slow and less reliable. When you put the card in any device like PSP check for magic-gate info. If it says magic-gate: unknown, return it back. You are better off buying Lexar or other cheaper card from reputable vendor than buying fake card. Dont promote fake sellers, if you find any fake seller report to Amazon and authorities.

Poor screen undoes magic of first two models2
I’m going to cut to the chase here: Yes, I’m giving the system two stars because of the screen. Is the system “ruined” because of the 3000’s new screen? No, not at all. Is it the worst version of the system to be released thus far? Yes.

Prior to picking up the 3000 (I had already owned a 1000 and Madden blue 2000 unit), I had read that the so-called “scan lines” were visible only if you were holding the unit close to your eyes. If you have never seen a Nintendo DS or Sony PSP before and your last memory of a handheld LCD screen is from, say, the Sega Game Gear or Atari Lynx, then yes, I guess that’s the case. However, it just doesn’t look right even nine or ten inches from your face. The cross-hatched scan lines are ever-visible and make certain games look god-awful and near blinding. I tried the unit with the new Phantasy Star Portable demo and the 3D motion was terrible after being used to the 2000 unit for almost a year.

Even worse, the brightness–supposedly increased from the previous model (which had a very bright screen)–is poor, the blacks are milkier, and the whites are either yellowed or redded depending on your color settings (under the “System” settings).

Again, it’s not a deal-breaker. The games, the processing power, the graphics are still there. But the PSP-3000 is a dismal experiment on Sony’s behalf, and those in search of a PSP system would be wise to seek out the core 2000 model (still sold via Amazon.com).
